SEO Newsletter for the week of June 3, 2022

This week we start the SEO newsletter with Twitter removing nofollow in links, google not using results from Bing, google testing... Let's interact with the topics covered in the article!

1. HOT: TWITTER REMOVED NOFOLLOW Attribute
I don't know if it's due to developer mistake or other intentions, but Twitter has removed the rel=nofollow attribute in its links (Link to this content, link 2).
This means that all links (profiles, tweets, pages, ..) from Twitter will now become dofollow links.
Google has not yet commented on this. Not sure how Twitter will handle this. Normally, Twitter is already a place to spam links, now it's even more fierce :))

2. TEST VIDEO PAGE INDEXING REPORT IN GOOGLE SEARCH CONSOLE
Another signal that shows the importance of video in the current SEO era is that Google is testing a new feature called "Video page indexing" in GSC (Link).
In this section, Google tells you:
How many videos on your website are discovered by Google, what is the indexed rate?
The reason the videos are not indexed.
List of videos that need to be fixed.
Some common errors that cause videos not to be indexed by Google in this report:
Video is not playing.
No thumbnails.
There are no notable videos on the page.
Unknown video format.
Wrong URL.
Can't read thumbnails.

3. GOOGLE SEARCH MOBILE TEST PRODUCT FILTER FEATURES
A screenshot on Google search mobile (Link) shows that Google has been testing the product filter feature.
Only recently saw Google testing this feature with clothing products, with filter properties such as:
Size
Size
Trademark
Material, substance

4. GOOGLE BUSINESS PROFILE ADDED “PROFILE STRENGTH” FEATURES NOW ON GOOGLE SEARCH.
GBS adds a section “Profile strength” displayed right on Google search for webmasters or business owners to easily recognize the strength/weakness of your business on Google (Link to this content, link 2).
At the same time, you can quickly check the issues that need to be fixed to improve the quality of your business profile.

5. GOOGLE NEW FEATURE SNIPPET TEST: SHOW MORE ANSWERS
As we all know, the featured snippet only shows the most featured answer to the user's query (you often call it top 0).
But recently, Google experimented by giving 4 answers (from 4 different sites) to the same question. This means there are 4 top 0.
Does that seem like too many options? This is not necessarily good for users. Link to this content.

6. GOOGLE: DON'T PUBLIC EMPTY OR NO CONTENT PAGES!
Google J. Mueller responds on Twitter about whether to publish a white page or not?
John said: whatever you do it for, it's not advisable, because this is not good for the user experience. Only publish a page when you have content for it.
In short, should only public/display any page on your website when you already have content. Avoid the habit of publicizing an empty page on the website and then blocking the index of that page :(

7. GOOGLE: DO NOT USE RESULTS FROM BING
John Mueller said that Google does not use results from Bing, even if Google does not have index data about the keywords users are searching for.
