How to have a transparent icon background?
To create an icon with a transparent background, the selected image must be in PNG, WEBP, or SVG format and have some transparent areas (alpha channel).
Which sizes to include in the icon?
It is recommended to select all the standard icon sizes.
To reduce the file size of the ICO file, the following icon resolutions are common and cover most of the scenarios: 16x16, 32x32, 48x48, 256x256.

Why use multiple sizes in the ICO file?
If the ICO file does not include all the sizes, the system may downscale or upscale the icon to the required resolution, resulting in poor image quality.
When all the images are generated and stored in high quality, it prevents runtime scaling.
